In addition to appearing in the short film “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me,” which won numerous prizes at the Toronto Student Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival, Pinsent was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2006.

According to reports, Gordon Pinsent passed away quietly while sleeping at home in Canada. The family of the well-known star released a formal statement, which was written by his son-in-law, the actor Peter Keleghan, after his departure.
“Gordon Pinsent passed away quietly in his sleep today with his family by his side,” say his daughters Leah and Beverly and son Barry.
“Gordon loved this country and its people, its purpose, and its culture with all of his heart until his final breath.”
Mark Critch, an actor and longtime friend, also announced the actor’s passing on Twitter. The Canadian actor was “the best there ever was,” according to Critch, who has collaborated with Pinsent in the past.
