Demon Slayer season 3 is still a ways off, but we can anticipate more information (and hopefully rumours of a release date) to surface in the near future. After all, we have already seen a quick preview for the upcoming season and seen which manga arc it will be based on. We will probably soon learn the full details of what Tanjiro and company are planning to do next, it seems.

In the interim, we have scoured the internet for every scrap of information on Demon Slayer season 3, also known as the Swordsmith Village arc. Even the expanded cast list is confirmed, and we get a little introduction to the new antagonist. Our guide to Demon Slayer season 3 contains all of it.

Release date for Season 3 of Demon Slayer

As of November 2022, the release date for Demons Slayer season 3 is a mystery, although it will undoubtedly happen. Taking a look at the typical production schedules followed by the animation company Ufotable can help us start to make some reasonably accurate guesses about when we’ll next see Tanjiro and the team.

Unfotable has consistently proven to be amazingly dependable when it comes to the releases of the Demon Slayer. The first season of Demon Slayer was released in 2019. Then, in October 2021, Demon Slayer’s second season premiered, and it ran until February 2022. Given this, it is safe to assume that fans will have to wait a full year for the premiere of season 3.

Plot of Demon Slayer season 3

It has been announced that the third season’s story would centre on the Swordsmith Village arc, the ninth arc of the manga’s initial publication.

It should be noted that the Demon Slayer manga officially ended in 2020, giving anime fans a rare opportunity to learn (approximately) what the future holds for Tanjiro and the crew.

Following the conclusion of the Entertainment District arc, in which Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui slew the demon twins Gyutaro and Daki, the Swordsmith Village storyline immediately follows.

Luckily, Tanjiro’s demon-slaying sword was the only permanent fatality of this titanic encounter.

In episode three of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro will visit the Swordsmith Village to have Hotaru Haganezuka fix his blade.

Naturally, Tanjiro and company will encounter a swarm of demons while there (including a Upper Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Fortunately, Muichiro Tokito, aka Mist Hashira, intervenes to handle the topic.

The secret behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s widespread success was discovered by Satoshi Hino (Rengoku; via AnimeNewsNetwork).

“I’m incredibly pleased to learn that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Japanese animation have appealed to a lot of viewers outside.

Themes in this anime that everyone in the world can identify with include taking care of one’s family, the value of life, and living one’s life to the fullest. I consider it a great blessing that everyone on earth has united and feels the same way.

Season three will continue to explore these crucial themes if it hopes to capitalise on the popularity of the current season.

Is there a season 3 trailer for Demon Slayer?

The third season of Demon Slayer has a trailer, which is wonderful news!

Crunchyroll published a trailer for the series’ upcoming arc, Swordsmith Village, on April 20, 2022.

The video gives us a hint as to which Hashiras (the highest-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corp) the next chapter will be about, even if the first part of the trailer essentially serves as a recap of Demon Slayer season 2.

The second season of Demon Slayer had two narrative arcs, one of which focused on the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku and the other on the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. A new group of Demon Slayer higher-ups are highlighted in the season 3 teaser: the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito.

So it appears like Tanjiro and the gang will once more join forces with the Hashira, much like they did in season 2.
