How to Clean a Fiber Glass Tub

If you own a fiber glass tub, you need to learn how to correctly clean it. This will ensure that your tub will have a longer life span and require little or no repair in the long run. Here are the things you need to do in cleaning a fiber glass tub.

Instructions

  1. Take a box of baking soda and add a generous amount of the said product in warm water. Aside from cleaning the tub, baking soda also removes unpleasant odors in it. Dip a soft cloth in this mixture and gently wipe the surface of the fiber glass tub. Do not use commercial pads as these things can scratch the fiber glass tub. Make sure you wipe all the tub’s parts and do not forget any crevice.
  2. You may encounter spots in the tub that are particularly difficult to clean. If you find such spots, create a mixture of 50 percent water and 50 percent vinegar. Pour this solution in a spray bottle and apply it on the spot. Leave the solution on the spot for several minutes and wipe it away.
  3. After you have scrubbed the fiber glass tub with water and baking soda and sprayed it with the vinegar solution, give the tub a good rinse. Water the tub and wipe it with a damp cloth. Use the vinegar spray again if you still find dirty spots.
  4. For noticeable stains which were not removed by the given steps, you may try using commercial agents designed for cleaning fiber glass products. Look at different agents before selecting the right one for your fiber glass tub.
