Steps to Wire a House
- Make a plan for your wiring project. List down the things you will need. Then write down the steps involved in wiring the house. If you want, you can create a time table for your project.
- Familiarize yourself with the electrical equipment, their functions and uses.
- Determine the wiring pathway within the house. Decide carefully where you will install the outlets, switches, and fixtures. Ideally, you should place the switches near the doors of each room. Make sure the wiring pathway does not interfere with other facilities in the house.
- Know how much electricity is consumed by the individuals living in the property. Look at the electrical appliances and see the voltage requirements of each one.
- Creating holes for the wiring pathway is the next step. Use a high-quality drill. Before drilling, know how thick the walls are and how large the fixtures and switches are.
- Bring the cables along the pathway. Set them up properly and use the right tools in bringing your cables.
- Set up the circuit breakers. Make sure that the circuit breakers are in top condition before and after installing them. Connect the circuit breaks to the main circuit breakers.
