How to Wash Clothes
Washing your clothes is a fundamental skill you need to learn. It is an easy task.
Steps to Wash Clothes
- Collect the clothes you need to wash. Gather your dirty clothes in your room. Look at inconspicuous areas where you might have left some of your clothes. For instance, you may have dropped your shirt on the floor and it may have been swept under the bed.
- Organize your dirty clothes. Separate the clothes in piles according to the type of fabric and the color. Remember never to wash sheets and towels together. Also, keep the white clothes and those with light colors together in one pile. Place in another pile the ones with dark colors.
- Take the priority pile and place it in the laundry basket. This is the pile containing the towels. You need to wash this pile first because it contains the items that take the most time to dry.
- Turn on the washing machine, and let water run into it. Add ½ cup of laundry detergent. There are certain detergents that have plastic cups in their packages.
- Place the priority pile into the washing machine. Avoid putting too many clothes in it.
- Using the knobs, adjust the settings of the washer according to the type of clothes. White clothes require hot temperature, while colored clothes need cold temperature. Close the machine’s door and press the On or the Start button.
- When the washer is done, take the clothes out of the washer and place them in a dryer.
- Do the same previous steps with the remaining piles.
