How To Repair Trees
All trees are made with a protective covering known as a tree bark. If a tree’s bark become damaged then this could be very harmful to the entire tree. Trees can become damage in the routine maintenance of your yard such as trimming, mowing or any other activity that requires the use of sharp objects. Though we do suggest that you avoid any form of damage to our trees, in the event that a tree does get damaged here are the proper steps to take to repair the tree.
Required Materials
- Strong Tape (duct or strapping)
- Portion of bark that got separated (option based on method)
Required Tools
- Knife or Razor Blade (option based on method)
Instructions
Using Separated Bark:
- Firmly hold the damaged bark into place.
- Use the tape for a firm hold.
- Note the of repair
- Leave in place for three months.
- Check the progress of the repair.
- If completely repaired then remove the tape
- If not completely repaired place repeat steps 2 through 6.
Without the Separated Bark:
- Cut the injured area into a straight line.
- Shape out the damaged area into the shape of an eye socket.
- Leave to self repair.
Tips and Warnings
- For faster recovery get the repair process on route as quickly as possible.\
- Limit the use of tree sealing products as they actually reduce the speed of the tree’s repair process.
