How to Kiss

Kissing can be one of the most intimate acts between two people, it is advisable that you be prepared so it will be a memorable moment for the both of you.

Required Materials

  • Lip balm or Vaseline
  • Gum or breath mints


Instructions

  1. Make sure your mouth is clean and your breath is fresh. Get rid of any gum, food, or breath mints.
  2. Make sure your lips are soft and not chapped. Lip balm or Vaseline can help.
  3. If you are initiating the kiss, do so at a time when you think your partner will be receptive. Watch for nonverbal cues he/ she might give such as leaning into you or licking his/her lips.
  4. Once you pick u some cues and think it is a good time to kiss, lean in to your partner slowly and tilt your head slightly so you don’t bump noses. Place your lips on your partner’s and close your eyes. Relax.
  5. Start small. Begin with small, closed mouth kisses on the lips of your partner. Keep your lips loose and moist- but not wet.
  6. Begin parting your lips slightly. Push your tongue out slightly and begin lightly licking the lips of your partner.
  7. If your partner seems receptive, gently work your tongue between his/her lips. Once you get your tongue between your partner’s lips, begin opening your mouth wider. Keep your lips moist. Do not over-wet your lips, drool or open your mouth too wide.
  8. Once both you and your are kissing with open mouths, gently rub your tongue along the edge of your partners tongue. You can also move your tongue in a circular motion around your partner’s tongue, or press your tongue against your partners.
  9. Be perceptive. Pay attention to what your partner is doing with his/her tongue and mouth. That will usually indicate the method they enjoy best when kissing.
  10. While kissing, delicately nibble your partner’s bottom lip. Don’t bite or pull the lip, just nibble it.
  11. Kisses should be moist but not sloppy. It should be relaxed and follow a natural flow. Pay attention to your partner and read his/ her cues.
