How to Grow Grass
Having grass on your backyard or lawns can beautify your home even more.
Steps to Grow Grass
- Prepare the area where you want to grow grass. If this area currently has grass on it, you need to level it. Use a leveler to remove most if not all of the grass. Leveling not only clears the area but it also helps the new grass grow more properly.
- Determine the borders of the area. Mark the edges of the area where you want the grass not to grow. This makes the lawn look neat.
- You are now ready to dig the soil. Digging the soil will mix up its granules and will let the fertilizer spread better through the soil’s layers when you add the said ingredient. The depth for digging depends on the type of grass you want to grow.
- Add the fertilizer. Compost with phosphorus and soil conditioner is the fundamental ingredient you need to put in the soil if you want to grow grass. Garden stores and greenhouses are good sources of the said products.
- Dig up the soil again. This ensures that the ingredients you have added will indeed be mixed evenly through all parts of the soil.
- You can now plant the grass. For this purpose, you can use a seed spreader or your hands. Whichever option you choose, make sure that you spread the seeds evenly around the area.
- Water the seeds. Never water too much. Use a water sprinkler to give the area a fine mist of water. You have to water the grass evenly everyday.
