Cutting bangs enables you to give a new look to yourself or to another person. It is a good idea to know how to do it properly. Below are the basic steps to cut bangs.
Steps to Cut Bangs
- Make sure you’re working with dry hair. This is important whenever you want to cut your own bangs or someone else’s bangs. Do not cut hair while it is wet. This will make hair look too short once it dries.
- Section off the part of hair you do not want to cut. Use a comb to separate it. You can tie this part or pin it up. The bangs should be the only part hanging loose.
- Use a styling comb. Divide the bangs in half. Take one half of your bangs and comb it downwards. The teeth of the comb should be facing out. Let the comb rest on the browbone.
- Start cutting the first half of the bangs. You should be cutting at a 45-degree angle. Do not rush while you cut the bangs. Cut it a bit at a time. Avoid cutting bangs straight across as this will make the cut less straight. If you are working with shaggy bangs, use a single-blade razor.
- Repeat the same steps on the other half of the bangs.
- Check to see if the cut is even. Do this by pulling a piece of hair from either side toward the center of the face. It should be equidistant from the bridge of the nose.
