How to Cook Salmon
Salmon is a species of fish that contains high amounts of nutrients, especially protein and vitamin D and is also an excellent source of B6 and magnesium. Salmon is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids; it’s one of the few foods that are great in nutrition but still offer wonderful flavors. Tools Required
- Bowl
- Blender
- Grill
- Brush
Ingredients
- 4-5oz Salmon Fillet, with skin on
- 1 tbsp chopped ginger
- 1 clove chopped garlic
- 9 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp oil
- Juice from freshly squeezed orange
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Make the sauce – blend ginger and garlic, and then add tomato ketchup, orange juice and sugar. Mix together then store away in a bowl.
- Apply the sauce to the fleshy side of the salmon, leave for one hour.
- Prepare grill and add oil
- Place salmon on grill with the skin facing up
- Wait 3 minutes then turn salmon skin side down
- Apply more sauce
- Cook salmon for another 3-4 minutes, then remove from grill
- Prepare salmon for serving – serves up to 4
Tips
- Keep salmon frozen prior to use – avoid frost burn by storing in a freezer bag.
- Thaw salmon by transferring it from the freezer to the refrigerator and let it remain there for 24 hours.
- When cooking salmon keep the skin on for better handling.
