How to Cook Orange Roughy

Orange Roughy, otherwise known as Red Roughy or Deep Sea Perch is actually a large deep sea fish that are marketed fresh and frozen.  Orange Roughy has a mild flavor and does not have much oil.  Here are easy flavorful recipes to cooking Orange Roughy.

Tools Required

  • Baking pan

Ingredients

  • Two orange roughy fillets
  • Two finely chopped garlic cloves
  • Two tablespoons butter
  • One tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Wash fillets and pat dry
  3. Place fillets in baking pan and apply garlic
  4. Apply one tablespoon of butter on each fillet
  5. Add olive oil, salt and pepper
  6. Place fillet in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until flaky

Tools Required

  • Microwave dish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. orange roughy fillets
  • Two tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • One small chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Schilling Lemon
  • Pepper seasoning

Instructions

  1. Place butter in microwave dish, place in microwave and melt
  2. Place fish fillets in butter and turn on all sides
  3. Top fillet with onion, celery and seasonings
  4. Microwave on high for 10 minutes or more if fish was frozen
