How to cook lamb
A lamb is a young sheep that is less than one year old. The younger the sheep the tender the meat and the color will appear slightly pink to pinkish red. There are many ways to cook lamb, but here’s a delicious way of preparing it!
Required tools
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Large sauce pan
- Roasting tin
- Oven
Required materials
- 2 breast of lamb
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp plum jam
- 1 tbsp dry mustard
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Place the breast of lamb on a cutting board and use a knife to remove excess fat.
- Bring water to boil in a sauce pan then add breast of lamb and vinegar. Let simmer for fifteen minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180oC (350oF)
- Drain breast and cut between ribs. Arrange ribs on roasting tin.
- Heat sauce pan gently and add: ketchup, honey, soy sauce, plum jam, dry mustard and worcestershire sauce. Stir to mix ingredients.
- Pour sauce over ribs and bake for thirty minutes. Turn once and baste.
- Allow to cook for a further 15 – 20 minutes until the riblets are crisp.
Tips & warnings
- This maybe garnish with parsley sprigs and lemon slices.
