How to Braid Hair
Before braiding the hair, make sure that it is clean and damp. Apply styling gel or mousse on it and then blow dry. Comb the hair thoroughly and remove all tangles.
- Divide the hair into three sections. Make sure the sections are even. Hold the left section using your left hand’s index finger and thumb. Use your right hand’s index finger and thumb to hold the right section. The middle section can be left to hang loose.
- Take the middle section with your right middle finger. Pull the middle section to let it pass behind the right section. Extend your right hand’s thumb and index finger. This will make the right section of hair become the new middle section.
- Take the middle section using your left middle finger. Pull it to move it at the back of the left section. Extend your left hand’s thumb and index finger. This will make the left section become the middle section. Ensure the smoothness of the hair braids you are making.
- Shift the section of hair on your right middle finger to make it sit between your right hand’s thumb and index finger. Repeat the same process. Then shift the section of hair on your left middle finger to make it sit between your left hand’s thumb and index finger.
- Perform the same steps until you make the desired hair braid length. Pull the middle section to a straight horizontal line as you place it to the left or right. This will ensure tighter and more compact braids.
- Once you have finished making the desired braid length, tie the ends with a rubber band. You can add a bow if desired.
