  • 1 tub of frosting (any flavor)

Required Equipment:

  • Two 8’’ round baking pans
  • 1 Small Bowl
  • 1 Large Bowl
  • Cake Mixer

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°. Prepare your baking pans. Use two, eight inch round pans. Grease them and lightly flour them as well.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Beat butter in a large bowl. Add sugar and vanilla and continue to beat. Add the eggs one at a time and continue to beat until the mixture is even.
  4. Add the dry flour mixture and add mix. Make sure you are mixing well and that the batter is even.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the two pans. Bake for thirty to thirty-five minutes. Stick a toothpick into one cake. If it comes out clean, remove the pans. If there is cake mixture on the toothpick, let them bake longer. Check the cakes every few minutes.
  6. When the cakes are done, place them on wire racks for ten minutes. Keep them in the baking pans. After ten minutes, remove the cakes from the pans and continue to cool until they are thoroughly cool.
  7. Once the cakes are cool it is time to frost them. Begin by frosting the top of one cake. Carefully place the other cake directly on top of the frosted cake. Frost the sides and the top of the second cake and you are finished!
